Last branch meeting: 10/4/2009
We like to keep an eye on plannign applications here in Selly Oak, to make sure that bad proposals don’t slip through the net and that the special character of the area is preserved. An application was put forward to build three six-bedroom houses in the garden of some others, which seems a little over-intensive to us, so we’l be fighting that one for you…
Local MP Lynne Jones gave us an interesting account of her recent trip to Kyrgistan and Gaza; from toilets to terrorists, from sheep eyes to Hamas, we learnt a lot.
We also elected a delegate to National Conference! We’ve been teaming up with Bournville branch a fair bit recently for our meetings, which has been nice.
The next meeting will be on May 14th, at 7.45 at the Friends’ Meeting House in Bournville, please get in touch if you’d like to come along!
